It is proposed to stop the border delimitation process; that is, to stop the process of formation of Armenia's security guarantees; that is, to stop the process of establishing Armenia's sovereignty. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this during his press conference Tuesday—and referring to the movement led by Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, Primate of the Diocese of Tavush of the Armenian Apostolic Church, and the demands of this movement.
"I say, dear [Armenian] clergymen, journalists that we are saying let’s stop the process from today afternoon. But what will happen after that? After that, one simple thing will happen: a war will begin [with Azerbaijan].
At least the analysis of who and how they are reacting to this process, I believe that the goal was that: to prevent the border delimitation from happening, the inevitable result of which will be the war. Moreover, the war will not be delegitimized in that case. The forces that demand the border delimitation to be stopped will naturally, also with the support of these forces, also of foreign forces, will do everything so that new territories from Armenia are occupied, in order to use it for political changes in Armenia. But what will happen is also important there," he said.
Pashinyan continued: "One of the well-known figures of the opposition sitting on the air questions the expediency of holding free, fair elections in Armenia. This means that Armenia's sovereignty is being questioned. The war is needed by a number of internal and external forces to be able to change power without elections. That scenario alone makes it possible. The same scenario played out during the 44-day war [in 2020]. (…).
Those who say to stop border delimitation, their goal is to provoke a war, to ensure a change of power in a non-electoral way [in Armenia]. It is possible if the sovereign territories of Armenia are occupied. Otherwise, there will be no background for it. Subsequently, the establishment of a puppet, illegitimate government and the de facto dissolution of Armenia's sovereignty and statehood before the de jure dissolution. It is so obvious," Pashinyan emphasized.
