Armored units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have entered the southern Gaza city of Rafah early Tuesday morning, reports The Times of Israel daily.

The IDF said it was conducting “targeted strikes” against Hamas targets in eastern Rafah.

Gunfire and explosions, the rumble of tanks and drone of helicopters were audible in the footage from the Rafah border crossing aired on Egyptian television.
