Ferrari fans breathed a sigh of relief. The new 12-cylinder flagship of the series, which was recently introduced at the company's headquarters in Maranello, Italy is neither an electric car nor a hybrid, reports Drom.ru.

The heart of the Scuderia's most iconic stallion still burns with the pure, flawless, and unmatched power of a naturally aspirated 12-cylinder high-revving engine.

In fact, this car owes its name to its engine, the Ferrari 12Cilindri ("dodichi cilindri" in Italian). The engine is not new, but it does not lose its uniqueness, as it was equipped with a track modification of the Competizione Ferrari 812: 6.5 liters, 12 cylinders, 40% lighter titanium pistons, limited to 9,500 rpm, 830 hp, and 692 Nm.

Also, with a vibration frequency unmatched by any other road car at 9,500 rpm, all 12 pistons sound in unison thanks to the precisely equal length of all 12 exhaust manifolds. Its gearbox is new, an 8-speed robot.

The Ferrari 12Cilindri chassis has an original design with steered rear wheels and an ideal balance of weight distribution (48.3% front, 51.7% rear) along the axles. Despite the slightly larger dimensions (length: 4,733 mm, width of mirrors: 2,176 mm, height: 1,292 mm) compared to the Ferrari 812, the designers managed to keep the weight at the same level: 1,560 kg for the Ferrari 12Cilindri coupé, and 1,620 kg for the spider (open top body without convertible roof). The manufacturer uses two brands of tires: Michelin Pilot Sport S5, and Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport.

The 12Cilindri, designed under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, the chief design officer of Ferrari, sees the company's stylists move away from the complex sculpting techniques used on the last three generations of 12-cylinder Ferraris. The image of the 12Cilindri is more concise, the shapes are closer to geometrically correct images, and the joints of all body elements are as straight as possible. Unsurprisingly, the shape of the body and front optics of the Ferrari 12Cilindri echoes the Ferrari 365 GTB Daytona, which promoted a similar design concept.

The interior of the Ferrari 12Cilindri features expressive shapes, digital minimalism, and two cabins. All information on the plane is available only from digital screens. There are minimal physical keys, as almost all functions are activated via virtual menus and touch buttons. In front of the passenger is a small multimedia screen framed exactly like the driver's, hence the two cabin effect.

In Italy, the Ferrari 12Cilindri coupe will be offered for 395,000 euros, and the spider—for 435,000 euros, without taxes. The first of these cars will be delivered to customers in the EU at the end of the year.
