The Turkish fifth generation Kaan fighter jet successfully carried out its second test flight, TGRT television reported.

Information about the technical details of the tests has not been received yet. The flight has not been officially confirmed either.

After the first flight on February 21, engineers updated the fighter's software, and worked on integrating new systems to improve its flight and combat features.

On February 21, Kaan took off from the Murted airbase, near the Turkish capital Ankara, and returned to the same place after the first test flight. It stayed in the air for 13 minutes, covering more than 420 kilometers

The Kaan fighter jets are being made in Turkey since 2017, within the framework of the National Combat Aircraft project, by Turkish Aerospace Industries. The Turkish authorities have announced that the Kaan will surpass the American F-35s in terms of tactical and technical characteristics and will later replace the F-16s of the country's air force.
