The Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, essentially denied Russian president spokesman Dmitry Peskov’s statement that the Armenian side had asked the Russian side that the Russian border guards continue to perform service on the Armenian-Iranian and Armenian-Turkish borders.

"We proposed to Russia that the Russian bases at the [Zvartnots International] Airport [of Yerevan], Sisian and Goris [cities], and the 17 border posts should be pulled out, they accepted, and asked if we want them to pull out from the Armenia-Iran and Armenia-Turkey borders as well. We said that it is contractual and we are not discussing it. We have not had any such request. I am telling what happened, leaving the rest to the judgment of the public," said Grigoryan.
