Armenia and Azerbaijan have confirmed their participation in the negotiations in Kazakhstan. Aibek Smadiyarov, an official representative of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, informed RIA Novosti about it.

"The negotiations between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place in Almaty. Both sides have confirmed their participation. The day of the event will be announced additionally," Smadiyarov said.

Kazakhstan's Deputy Foreign Minister Alibek Bakayev had told RIA Novosti earlier on Tuesday that the date of this meeting has not been decided, as Armenia has not yet confirmed its participation.

The idea of conducting talks between the two countries in Kazakhstan was proposed by its president, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his recent visits to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
