US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mark Libby has responded to a question from local media Turan why he is not visiting occupied Shushi.

"There are no political reasons here. I will go when I am ready until I am ready," he said.

He also commented on a question about how warm relations between Baku and Moscow are perceived in Washington.

"It is an aggressive, unproductive country. Azerbaijan should take this into account and decide for itself how to defend its sovereignty," the American ambassador said.
